Jagadeeshan also created a record as the first cricketer to score five consecutive centuries in List-A cricket. Jagadeeshan, who had a toy with the Arunachal bowlers, completed the century in just 76 balls. It is remarkable that he completed the next century in just 38 balls. Jagadeesan and Sai Sudarshan (154 off 102 balls) added 416 runs in 38.3 overs for the first wicket in the match being held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In this match, Tamil Nadu scored 506 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 50 overs. This is also the highest score recorded by a team in List-A cricket (England scored 498 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in this year’s ODI against Netherlands.. Tamilnadu team has now broken that record). Jagadeesan was dismissed for the second wicket in the 41.4th over. Otherwise, he would have easily scored a triple century.

Chennai Super Kings left for auction
In the IPL 2022 mega auction, Jagadeeshan was acquired by Chennai Super Kings for a base price of Rs.20 lakh. Jagadeesan, who played seven IPL matches from IPL 2020 to 2022, batted in four matches and scored 79 runs at a strike rate of 110.61. His highest score in IPL was 39 not out against Gujarat Titans at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in 2022. Chennai Super Kings released him before the IPL 2023 mini auction. IPL franchises are likely to compete to land Jagadeeshan, who is ringing in centuries in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Apart from playing as an opener, this Tamil Nadu cricketer has a chance to be sold at a good price in the auction as he can keep the wicket.

List-What is Cricket?
Limited overs cricket where each team plays 40 to 60 overs is called List-A cricket. Teams competing in first class cricket play one innings after another. Each innings has specific overs. In terms of international cricket, if ODIs come under List-A, then Tests come under First Class Cricket.
