Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna and Shriya Saran starrer Drishyam 2 got off to a good start with an opening day collection of Rs 15 crore nett. The film recorded the third best opening post the pandemic beating Ram Setu and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, remaining behind Brahmastra and Sooryavanshi. Early estimates for Saturday indicated the film was already on its way to emerge a hit.
Drishyam 2 witnesses a growth of around 40% on Day 2 and collected around Rs 21 crore nett, reports Box Office India. The collections were higher on Gujarat/Saurashtra circuit as compared to the national average. The film witnessed impressive growth in collections all over, including the North and East. Rajasthan and CI circuits also showed huge jumps on Saturday. This is a very good sign and now all the film needs is Monday figures to confirm the hit status.
The film stands at a total collection of Rs 36 crore nett approximately and can easily expect a weekend of over 60 crore nett. Interestingly only Brahmastra and Sooryavanshi have crossed this mark post pandemic.
A source from PVR earlier said to ETimes, “Honestly, we didn’t expect this response. Initially, precisely speaking till Tuesday night we thought that Day 1 would be 8.5 crore, but now it looks to the tune of Rs 15 crore. The suspense and the performances both hold you till the last frame.”
